When delivering a EU Cybersecurity Certificate, a Conformity Assessment Body states that an ICT product, service, or process is conform to specific cybersecurity requirements and thus a certain level of cybersecurity assurance (basic, substantial, or high) under EU Certification Schemes.
A certificate confirms that an ICT product, service, or process has undergone assessments to ensure that they are secure according to an assurance level. The use of the EU Cybersecurity Certificates ensures that a harmonised set of cybersecurity criteria is used among the different Member States, which makes comparable ICT products, services, or processes in terms of cybersecurity and enables the recognition of the certificates in all the EU independently of the issuing Member State of the certificate.
